Nike Dunks  »  Women's Nike Dunks  »  Women's Nike Dunk Low  »  Nike Dunk Year Of The Tiger

According to chinese calendar 2010 is the year of the tiger. With that beeing said the release of Nike Dunk Low in a tiger outfit only makes sense. The sneaker has a black leather upper with tiger theme felt at the toebox, sidepanel and back. Highlights include also the golden swoosh and tiger claw print on the inside.

Each year, Nike Dunks chooses a shoe to collaborate and for 2010, it is the Dunk’s turn. Inspired by the Year of the Tiger, the Nike Dunk received an exclusive treatment with its upper made up of Black leather particularly on the forefoot and lace holder areas while the toe box, side panel and collar have a tiger-striped furry material with a blend of Black/Brown/Tan. As for the Swoosh, it stands out in its Yellow Gold color up on the side. Inside the Nike Dunk is a tiger paw printed on the insole with the Nike logo in the middle. And don’t forget the sole, it is finished in White midsole with Black outsole. This tiger-patterned Dunk is available for the kids but if you are a female and would fit in the size range, you can make it work out. May this sneaker pack give you inspiration and tiger-like strength as you go through all the hard days that 2010 brings.

I showed you a glimpse of the larger version of the Nike Dunk “Year of the Tiger,” but now I am back with some in smaller sizes. Look at’em. They are soooooo cuuuute. The itty bitty baby just sticks his little tiny foot into the tiger sneaker. Yes you are. Yes. You. Are….Sorry about that, got a little carried away.

But as I was saying, using black and yellow as the base colors, they sport faux tiger print cloth on the front, sides, and around the heel.  Currently they are only available in Boys sizes and there is still no word if Nike will release them for Adults. It’s about time Tiger got some attention , and I mean the good kind. Each passing year, Nike SB releases a commemorative colourway, honoring the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. One of the more notable pairs are the Nike Air Force 1 Year of the Rooster, which came in a decorative colourway and horsehair trim. 2010 is the Year of the Tiger, and these limited Nike Dunk Low GS does a phenomenal job at honoring the fierce mammal that commands respect. It features a tiger faux-fur print on the toebox, center panel, and rear heel, finished off with black leather and yellow trimming. These are a GS model, meaning they are available in Boys sizes, but if I were a betting man, I’d expect a pair of Year of the Tiger Nikes coming soon in adult sizes.
